Feature Story #2
For my video I interviewed Ethan about the graphics team for first robotics. I wanted to show what went into making the graphics and the skills it takes to make the designs.
For my narrative lead I wanted people to become interested in the video because they wanted to learn about it, and if they thought that they might want to apply for the first robotics graphics team next year.
For my first interview I interviewed Ethan Behrends and he is one of the graphics design students. He described what he did for the team, and what the team accomplishes during the season. For my second interview I interviewed Charly Wang, and she complimented Ethan's interview in the fact that she described what Ethan is good at and when he manages to accomplish in a short amount of time.
When I was filming it I had some problems getting the footage I needed because when I went in to film it they were focused on getting ready for the FLL competition the next day, and so they weren't working on many designs. When I was editing it I had a pretty good idea of how I wanted it to look, but one of the problems I was having was cutting the sound down so the B-roll wouldn't over power the voiceover.
From the feedback that I got from the students it was really good. They liked the sequence of the shots and the B-roll and how it captured the graphics team but also robotics as a whole. The one piece of feedback that I got that had me change part of my video from Mrs. Smith was the titles. She told me that for titles they need to have the persons full name, and a description of them.
Overall I was very proud of my video. I thought that I did a good job accomplishing the focal point and that it was an easy concept or people to understand without it being too easy that people got bored watching it.
