30 second tutorial
The purpose of this assignment was to create a 30 second video about good behaviors at Olathe Northwest. We were allowed to pick which focus area we were allowed to portray. I decided to focus on bullying. In Olathe Northwest bullying isn't acceptable and you will be punished if you do it.
In the pre-production stage of the video was creating story boards. The storyboards portrayed how we wanted the video to look in the final product. During production we decided to pick the location of the shooting at my locker in the hallway upstairs. We had me, Ryan, Leah, Sarah, and Mrs. Smith in the video all portraying different roles. Throughout the film we were each introduced at different points, so the film was more interesting. At the editing stage it was pretty easy, because I already had the storyboards to outline the main points of the video. So I put the clips in order and added some music to the background to make it more interesting.
I learned about white balance and how different lighting situations need different types of white balance. It's important to make sure your shots are focused. Working as a team is important in trying to get the right shot. Also to have a different view point.
What I would do differently is making sure I had all of my shots in focus. A lot of the shots were blurry so it was hard to make out the details. What I would do the same is have Ryan as my partner. He was very helpful in helping setting up the shots. What experiences I will take from this is that it's important to get a lot of different shots.
