End of Year Reflection

Technology

I learned the technology guarantee through working on different projects. One project I learned the most from was the Color Palette Project where I expanded my knowledge of photoshop and dreamweaver. It is important because it allowed me to use those skills to advance the look of future projects. One challenge I faced was the preview button in dreamweaver wouldn't update the work that I was changing.

Collaboration

One thing I learned in collaboration is that it is the key to success. It is important because it allowed me the chance to fix some of the mistakes that I had in the code for my mobile first website and also help Parker fix some of his errors. One problem I faced along the way is that there were some problems in the code that I couldn't figure out and neither could Parker which made it challenging.

Communication

I learned the communication guarantee through my client project for Leigh's School Of Dance. I learned it by sending emails to Lisa about the templates that I had found that could possibly work for her website. This is important because it allowed me the opportunity to make Lisa's vision of the website come to life. One problem I faced was the response time for emails was slow so it was hard to continue the work on the website till I had the okay from her on what she liked.

Project Management

I learned the project management guarantee through my client project for Leigh's School Of Dance. I learned it by sticking to the deadlines I set for myself to complete the different steps of the website. This is important because it allows the client to receive the finished project in a timely fashion while still receiving an amazing product. One problem I faced was trying to meet the deadlines while I was waiting on a response from Lisa on what she liked.

Leadership

I learned the leadership guarantee through helping my classmates with their projects. This is important because it not only made me a better individual and be able to see possible errors that might occur but it also helped me become a better communicator. One challenge I faced along the way is that there were some times in class where there wasn't anybody to help so I had to focus on setting a good example for my other classmates.

Strength/ Weakness

My greatest strength would be communicating with my  peers.  I have done a pretty good job of talking through some parts in the PHP project about what the code is supposed to look like. My greatest weakness would be project management. I need to improve it by setting more deadlines for what I need to accomplish each day on each project I work on. Overall, I have improved in each of the guarantees by reaching out to my peers for help, understanding how the technology works, and managing my time well. 

Future

In the future, I am going to use this knowledge to enhance my projects next year. I am also going to use it to make me unique in college while I plan on majoring in accounting and minoring in web design.

Change

To be completely honest I wouldn't change anything. I have grown to be a bigger person in not just the classroom but also life. I have learned that it's important to ask for help when needed, and that it's important to speak your mind. 

Summary

In conclusion, this year may not have gone as planned but I have gained a ton of knowledge that will be useful for next year and years to come.
